TAMPA, FL - The Suncoast Softball League (SSL) is proud to host the 20th Annual Gasparilla Suncoast Softball Classic. This is the biggest softball tournament in the south-east sanctioned by the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance. More than 60 teams from across the country will be competing in the tournament taking place Friday, February 14 through President’s Day, February 17. The tournament brings together the best softball teams in the LGBT community and its supporters.
“This is an exciting time for softball in the Tampa Bay Community”, said SSL Chairperson Kevin Hanson. “Not only is this one of the best organized tournaments in the country, the fantastic weather is a great draw for players and fans.”
The competition will be fierce, as players have put together hard-hitting teams of softball powerhouses; all for the chance take home a trophy from the Gasparilla Softball Classic.
“The community support we receive from the Tampa Bay business leaders is amazing, said Tournament Director Ron Frank. “Putting on a tournament of this caliber would not be possible without their support.”
The Suncoast Softball League is a registered 501c3 organization whose mission is to promote education of our community and support local charities in both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. We hold several fundraisers throughout the year that allow us to give back to the community in which we serve. The Gasparilla Softball Classic is one of our largest events and is recognized nationwide.
