TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Bay Sports Commission (TBSC), along with the Greater Tampa Bowling Association (GTBA), the Florida State United States Bowling Congress Youth Association (FSUSBCY), Pinchasers Midtown and Brandon Crossroads Bowl are proud to announce two of the state’s largest youth bowling tournaments will take place in Tampa Bay in 2016 and 2017. The Pepsi USBC Youth Championship will take place April 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 30-May 1, 2016 at Brandon Crossroads Bowl in Brandon, FL. Meanwhile, Pinchasers Midtown and Brandon Crossroads Bowl will host the 52nd Annual Florida State Youth Tournament on May 26-27, June 2-3, 9-10, 16-17 and 23-24, 2017.
The 2016 Pepsi Youth Championship will feature 3000 bowlers from across the state of Florida congregating at Brandon Crossroads Bowl to compete. Annually, the Pepsi Youth Championship awards more than $500,000.00 in scholarships, including nearly $50,000.00 at the most recent Florida tournament.
The 2017 Florida Youth State Championship is projected to draw 1,800 competitors at both Brandon Crossroads Bowl and Pinchasers Midtown. In 2015, 426 four-person teams, 870 doubles and 1,740 singles participated in the Championship, while contributing nearly $34,000.00 in youth scholarships.
