TAMPA, FL – The United States Flag and Touch Football League (USFTL) is proud to announce the 2015 National Championships will be held in Tampa, FL at Otis M Andrews Sports Complex & Ellis-Methvin Park. A significant reason for moving the event for the first time in 19 years, is due to the substantial growth as an organization. The event is expecting 400+ teams and needed a larger facility and fresh new look.
This will be the 45th Annual National Flag Football Championships. With a new venue and 16 fully lit, full sized fields, expect to see drastic improvements during the anniversary showcase.
The National Championship event brings more than 8,000 players from all over the country to participate, attend the captains meeting, Hall of Fame ceremonies, and team awards night. Teams can win apparel vouchers & cash prizes alongside the most coveted prize - the right to be called a USFTL National Champion.
Steep in tradition, this is the largest adult flag football event in the country and attracts top athletes and talent. Representing 11 different styles of play, up to four divisions per style, and also includes: Men’s, women’s, coed, the 35 and older masters division, and youth non-contact divisions. They will all compete this year for their stake of the title and prizes.
This year, the USFTL is proud to announce that we have partnered with Tampa Bay Sports Commission to help bring a popular and emerging sport to the great city of Tampa. The commission has been instrumental in getting us a premier location that the USFTL can grow into in the coming years.
2016 competition will take place January 15-17 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. In addition, the USFTL Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m., where flag football greats from all over the country will be enshrined. Admission is free for event spectators, with only a $5 daily charge for parking.
