Tampa Bay Sports Commission Hosts Full Week of Marquee Sporting Events

Tampa, FL – “The Tampa Bay Sports Commission and the Tampa Bay Convention & Visitor’s Bureau were busy with an exciting week of youth sporting events in the Tampa Bay area December 27th – December 30th. The Tampa Bay Sun Bowl Soccer Tournament and the AAU Winter National Baseball Tournament delivered over 400 youth teams from around the country to the area for the week.

The nationally-renowned Tampa Bay Sun Bowl Soccer Tournament was played at several sites throughout the Tampa Bay area. The invitational event featured 285 boys soccer teams competing in Under-14 to Under-19 age groups. Games were played at various sites throughout Hillsborough County, including the University of South Florida, Blackwatch, Brandon, Ed Radice Complex, Plant City, South Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Valrico. The AAU Winter National Baseball Tournament is the largest winter baseball tournament in the United States. The event featured 120 teams competing in 8-Under to 19-Under age groups. Opening Ceremonies took place at the Ed Radice Complex on December 26th and games were played throughout the week at Ed Radice, Citrus Park Little League, Skyway Little League, and several local high schools.
