RUSKIN, Fla. - Following much ado with regard to weather and scheduling of this year’s Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) Pro Tour Championship, anglers enjoyed calm waters and clear skies this past weekend in Ruskin, Fl.
Congratulations goes to Bo Johnson and Mike DelDuca for their first place finish at theChampionship. They took home a Ranger Cayman 223 rigged with a 225 HPDI Yamaha Outboard, Humminbird Electronics and a Minn-Kota Trolling Motor.
Second place went to Mike Friday and Dan Latham. They were awarded a Ranger 169 Ghost rigged with a 90 Yamaha Outboard, Humminbird Electronics and a Minn Kota Trolling Motor. This team also weighed in a 7.93 fish on the 1st day, winning them $200 for Big Fish.
Third place winners, Rich Tudor and Anthony Randazzo, were awarded a 200 HPDI Yamaha Outboard. Rich and Anthony also won the Cabela’s Team of the Year title, a season-long points race in which they received $15,000 in cash. On top of all this, they weighed in a 7.07 fish on day 2, winning them an additional $200 for Big Fish.
Troy and Christine Perez were crowned the Ranger Cup/Powered by Yamaha Team of the Year for acquiring the highest number of Ranger Cup points during the four qualifying IFA Pro events. They were awarded a Ranger 191 Cayman with a Yamaha 200 HPDI Outboard, approximately valued at $35,000, and consequently managed to come in 13th place overall in the Championship.
IFA CEO Jim Armstrong offered special thanks to all the anglers, sponsors and those who helped to bring this final championship together. He said, “This event could not have taken place without the expert planning and cooperation of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission and the host hotel The Inn at Little Harbor.”

Touted as the premier U.S. Redfish tournament organization, the IFA conducts over forty fishing events in seven states. The tournament structure is a series of one and two-day, catch and release, close-to-home, inshore saltwater events for two-angler teams using artificial lures. There are three different series: the Pro Tour, which is the highest competitive level; the Lure Tour, which is competitive and a possible launch pad into the pros for aspiring anglers; and the Open Series for those who just enjoy the fun, sport, and camaraderie of fishing.
