Florida’s 12 college football coaches are coming to Tampa to meet the press.
The Tampa Bay Sports Commission, Sun Sports and FSN Florida are hosting the 2007 Florida Sports Writers Association College Football Media Days on July 28 and 29 at the Quorum Hotel.
More than 120 sports writers from around the state will spend the weekend in Tampa, along with the coaches and other college officials.
“The key for us is the promotional value we get to showcase our destination to writers and college officials from all over the state,” said Rob Higgins, executive director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.
The state’s coaches will take turns speaking with statewide media and discussing the upcoming college football season. Day one features the University of Miami’s Randy Shannon and the University of Florida’s Urban Meyer and day two will include the University of South Florida’s Jim Leavitt and Florida State University’s Bobby Bowden.
