GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The 2009 and 2010 FHSAA Girls and Boys Soccer Finals will be held at the University of Tampa’s Pepin-Rood Stadium, the FHSAA office announced today. Wharton High School will serve as host for the event.
The dates for the girls tournament is February 11-14, 2009 and February 10-13, 2010. The boys tournament is February 18-21, 2009 and February 17-20, 2010.
“I am delighted to announce that Hillsborough County Public Schools put together a successful bid,” said FHSAA Executive Director John A. Stewart. “This event is one of the final pieces of the puzzle to putting our finals in a centralized location, which has been at the request of our membership over the last few years”
Two other counties, Leon and Broward, bid on the finals.
The girls and boys soccer finals have been held at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale for the past five years.
