TAMPA, Fla. - Have you ever watched rowers gliding along the surface of the water and wished you could do that? Now you can!

The Stewards Foundation, Inc. will hold an Adult Rowing Class beginning October 13, 2009. The Class will consist of (10) ten lessons during a two-and one half-week period. The classes will be held Tuesday’s and Thursdays at 5:15 PM and Saturdays at 7:45 AM.

The Stewards classes are designed to give everyone a taste of rowing. Except having the ability to swim, you need no other previous athletic experience. Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome to try the sport. (Parents must accompany anyone under 18, please)

“Rowing is a lifetime sport. It is low impact, fun and can be highly competitive,” notes Tom Feaster, a member of the Board of Directors of US Rowing, the Sports national governing board. Mr. Feaster who holds a Masters degree in Education will serve as the Head Coach for this program. His resume of accomplishments as a Head Rowing Coach includes national championships at both the scholastic and collegiate levels.

During these ten (10) consecutive lessons, over a three and one half week period novices will learn how to handle a boat and oars, experience the parts of the stroke on a rowing machine, and then get out on the water. The fee for the entire ten (10) classes is $300.00 and is to be paid to The Stewards Foundation, Inc. prior to the first lesson. The Stewards is a 501 (c) 3 charitable corporation.
