Ryan White named Head Rowing Coach for the Stewards Foundation, Inc.

TAMPA, Fla. - Ryan White, former captain and Northwest College Rowing Conference Champion at Pacific Lutheran University was appointed Head Rowing Coach for The Stewards Foundation, Inc. according to Tom Feaster, President and CEO.

Ryan started coaching in the summer of 2005 with Commencement Bay Rowing Club in Tacoma, Washington. During that time, he became an authority on community outreach programs and was subsequently appointed Executive Director and Head Coach of their high school program.

In July 2008, Ryan took over the White Rock Boathouse Rowing Programs in Dallas, TX.  During that time, Ryan qualified the men’s pair (2009, 2010), women’s pair (2009), men’s lightweight eight (2009), women’s lightweight eight (2010), men’s lightweight four (2010) and men’s open four (2011) to the Youth National regatta.  On top of the qualifying for nationals Ryan’s teams brought home over 200 medals, a state title and one athlete rowing for the US Juniors National Team.

As The Stewards Coach Ryan primary responsibilities are for the development and growth of youth rowing for those schools not having organized programs at their schools. These youth programs include High School, Middle School and are open to both boys and girls.

The Stewards Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation with a mission to use the Olympic sport of Rowing as a vehicle to teach teamwork and responsibility to young people in the Tampa Bay area. The Stewards Foundation is an organizational member of The United States Rowing Association.
