TAMPA, Fla. — The Club Directors League will host its 2nd Annual CDL Soccer Showcase in Tampa this weekend, Feb. 17-20. Soccer teams from throughout the state of Florida, along with several out-of-state teams across the eastern United States will compete in one of the premier tournaments in the Southeast.
This Showcase is expected to attract 180 teams in the U-13 to U-19 age groups, marking a 70 percent increase compared to last year’s inaugural event. More than 100 colleges and universities, representing 14 states have also committed to attending. Tampa will welcome soccer coaches from several prestigious schools such as Princeton, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, the University of Georgia, University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill, University of Cincinnati and multiple Florida schools—to name a few.
“The CDL Showcase has grown considerably in its second year,” commented Eric Sims, Executive Director of Tampa Bay United Soccer Club. “We hope to continue to make this a quality event for the players, as well as the college coaches attending. The Tampa Bay area is a great place to host a showcase that will assist the players in this area achieve their dreams of playing collegiate soccer. The clubs in the Club Directors League have come together for the good of the game and the players who play in it.
