TAMPA, Fla. - Some of Florida's best youth baseball teams will be in South Tampa this weekend to compete in the Little League Baseball juniors state championship tournament. The tournament will be held at Palma Ceia Little League on S. Himes Avenue and Interbay Little League on S. MacDill Avenue.
The first games begin at 6pm Friday July 26 with the championship game scheduled for 9am Monday July 29 at Palma Ceia Little League. A complete schedule of games can be found at www.pcll.org. Admission is free. Concession stands will be open.
Juniors players are 13-14 years old, and are from eight teams competing for the state championship. The teams include Union Park, Eau Gallie, South Ft. Myers, Palma Ceia/Bayshore, Braden River, Shalimar, and Deerfield Beach. The winner will advance to the regional tournament against other state champions from the southeast.
